Maca is a superfood adaptogen that is grown in the Andean mountains of Peru. It has been used historically to balance hormones, boost energy and stamina, as well as balance mood and stress levels. Suffering from hormonal imbalances I discovered maca years ago on my quest to balance my hormones naturally. It’s probably one of my favourite adaptogens; the nutty flavour adds beautiful depth to smoothies and lattes. Maca is best used raw because it best preserves the amino acids, minerals, and phytonutrients!
1 1/2 cup nut milk
2 frozen organic bananas
small bunch of organic dandelion greens
1 cup frozen organic mango/pineapple blend
2 teaspoons of raw organic maca powder
2 tablespoons of organic hemp hearts
juice of 1/2 of a lemon
juice of 1 large orange
Place all ingredients in the jar of a high speed blender, starting with the nut milk and blend until smooth.
